Dear Community Member,
Some journeys are measured in miles. Ours has been measured in years — in the quiet, steady generosity of members, devotees and well-wishers who gave whatever they could, whenever they could, so that one day our community would have a home to call its own.
That day has finally arrived. We are overjoyed to share that SBLA UK has completed the purchase of our new Temple and Learning Centre. What was, until recently, a modest shopfront on Reede Road will become a sanctuary of prayer, learning and belonging — for Bengali Hindus across East London today, and for generations of our families not yet born.
This achievement belongs to every single one of you. Your donations, your encouragement and your trust made it possible, and each of you deserves our most sincere thanks. As we celebrate this milestone, we also look ahead: the keys are ours, but the real work — refurbishing and lovingly transforming this building into a true Temple and Learning Centre — now begins. We warmly ask for your continued support as we build this lasting spiritual, cultural and educational home for the future.

A Day We Will Never Forget
Some days change everything. This was one of them. Surrounded by well-wishers, our trustees stood outside the little shopfront on Reede Road — once "Ambrose Upholstery" — and were handed a box of sweets and a set of keys. In that simple, joyful exchange, years of prayer, patience and generosity quietly became bricks and mortar.

The Building, As It Stands Today
This is what your generosity has already purchased: an honest, unfinished space, still smelling of sawdust and old upholstery. It is not yet beautiful. But look closely, and you can already see where the prayer hall will glow with diyas, where children will learn Sanskrit verses, where elders will sit in quiet meditation. Every bare wall here is simply a story waiting to be told.
